first International Congress in the field of Ob Gyn to be
held in this city. Delegates from all over the Asia Oceania region
came together to update themselves with the latest developments.
Dr.Kamini
A. Rao, the Organizing Chairperson for the Congress was instrumental
in bringing this Conference to India for the first time, overcoming
stiff contenders like Australia and Israel.
Being an
International Conference, the Scientific Program was designed
on par with world standards with the main aim of providing the
benefits of current research and technological progress to the
Ob Gyn fraternity of the Asia- Oceania region. The motto of the
Congress was 'towards excellence in women's health care'.
The main themes of the conference were - emergency obstetrics,
medical disorders in obstetrics and gynecology, women at forty
and thereafter, and the impact of technology on Ob Gyn practice.
Apart from the scientific sessions, programs dedicated to improving
public awareness about important social problems such as domestic
violence, female feticide were discussed. As is often said, it
takes more than a good conference center and an outstanding scientific
program to make an international conference successful. The XVIII
TH AOCOG was a conference, which was both professionally rewarding
and personally enjoyable.
